Perfectly Traditional -- Rooms by Designer Elizabeth Dinkel

I was once accused of being traditional.  It kind of bummed me out, because it is not how I see myself at all.  I always thought I was a little more modern or hollywood regency, with a definite leaning toward masculine.  So I truly, sincerely hope that Elizabeth Dinkel (when she reads my post with her coffee first thing today -- haha!) isn't offended when I call her traditional.  I adore her work. The first image, shown above, was the first one I saw of hers, and it was love at first sight for me.  As I learned more about her, I discovered that I really love the subtle, serene colors and furnishings she uses... in a word, her traditional style.  Here are some of my favorites:

I don't think you are traditional. You described your style perfectly. I am traditional. These are lovely images.

I love Elizabeth Dinkels work and feature many of her rooms on my posts...she is so talented. I love traditional with infusions of other touches, to make it interesting. Her interiors whlie traditional don't feel stale and stodgy, they are fresh, elegant and very inviting.
Beautiful!

Stacy,
I think that there's a bit of 'traditional' in a lot of us. The style is often associated with formality and predictability.
Today's Traditional is lighter, and much more livable. When modern and unexpected elements are incorporated into the design, it becomes chic, sophisticated, and elegant.
You and Elizabeth Dinkels know just how to accomplish the look!

I am definitely Traditional and that is not a bad thing. Traditional with a twist, Like depicted in Trad the new online magazine, that is what I think you are. You love the classic lines of traditional with fresh colors and a mix of high-low and new-old. Keeps it interesting, just like Ms Dinkel!! Kathysue

Hi Stacy- just want to say I've been going through your past posts to try to catch up and am so enjoying the eye candy. I have added so many images to my inspiration files for the house and just love your huge variety of styles and rooms. I really appreciate you commenting on my blog, and when things get a little less frantic on our renovation I hope I'll be back in the saddle commenting more regularly on others. But please know I am really loving what you're doing. Thanks so much.
