Amanda Nisbet is, of course, known all over for her style. She's done the Kips Bay Showhouse and the Traditional Home Showhouse, and is doing the Hamptons Designer Showhouse this summer. What everyone loves most about her work, I think, is her bold use of color. In particular, I love how she'll drop some bright teal bar stools in a light beige and white beach house kitchen, or mix chartreuse and amethyst (and not just a touch of the colors, either), or do a room with navy blue walls, and then also lacquer the ceiling in the same navy blue. Here are some of my favorite images of her colorful rooms (a long post, too, because it was so hard to narrow her work down)....
I really like the yellow and brown together, below. With such heavy colors in the room, I like how she kept the shape of the shade and bedskirt simple. Stunning! And the same thing in the following rooms, with the brown and purple.
I'm not sure I would ever think to paint a ceiling purple, but somehow she makes it work:
What a beautiful bright vignette:
I've been so in to orange rooms lately, and love this idea for a boy's room:
This is my all-time favorite room that she's done. I love how the color is not quite pink and not quite red, but beautiful no matter what you call it:
My favorite color of green, even though I'm too chicken to use it:
I'm sick of subway tile, unless it is turquoise!
Again, I would never think of doing a red chandelier, but it works so well in here:
And a BIG HUGE thank you to Karen at Goodbye City, Hello Suburb for featuring my Kitchen Paneling today!! Please go visit her blog here and link up in her Workshop Wednesdays. The cutest headband I have ever seen is linked up and I am totally obsessing over how to make one. I may have to try to learn to sew one of these days......
Thanks for reading!!

Amanda Nisbett uses color fearlessly. So many of these rooms appealed to me that it almost makes me want to be more daring in my own color choices. I'm definitely warming up to the idea!
What a beautiful post...and what a great blog! Glad I found you, I have a feeling I'll be getting a lot of inspiration around here :)
Too many beautiful examples to even comment on! I loved the lilac bed, the wallpaper in many shots, and I agree on the red/pink in between room...and I am also sick of subway tiles...there are so many beautiful choices out there that can be done! She has some really unique looks - loved this post - thanks!
