I adore molding, paneling, wainscotting, board and batten, bead board.... really millwork of any kind. I'm always a little bit astonished when clients hem and haw about putting up paneling or chair rails or the like. I always say yes - if they have the space and the means, then yes! Am I weird in that? It seems like a no brainer to me. Here are some of my favorites, and if you want to see my own millwork (I mean the DIY kind), click here.
Ceiling millwork is my absolute favorite:
What a great idea to use wide crown molding to make shelves around a room:

Custom millwork makes a home look grand and sophisticated.
Continuity is so important. If the moldings and trim are consistent throughout the house, a room with more detailed millwork will appear appropriate and intentional.
I especially love painted millwork that blends into the walls or ceiling, adding subtle depth and dimension.
Beautiful photos, Stacy!
The designs are really fabulously breathtaking! Thanks so much for sharing!
