Where To Spend Your Next $100 Million

Sunday, August 5, 2012

This octagonal penthouse taking up three floors on West 56th Street, with 360 degree view of Manhattan, just hit the market for a mere $100m. Up from the $4.5m it was purchased for 20 years ago. But hey, the owner put another $4.5m renovating it, so it's a steal, right?

On the other hand, I kind of think it's worth it.  I guess having $100 million is so far out of my realm that I can't even imagine what I would do if I could afford this. Buy it?  Buy a country instead? Give it all away? Still penny pinch at discount stores?  I have no idea.  But I do love this apartment!

That floor plan is, without a doubt, the coolest one I have ever seen.  And those views!!!
Worth a lot, in my book.  Just not sure about $100 million!

Thank you so much for reading!!

No shabby chic here! Wow, you can find them, Stacy, and of course I love it!
I can't imagine either, but I would like to try!
Happy Sunday.

100 million? Can't even imagine. The home is certainly incredible - no doubt. Would love to know who owns it. I kinda curious about stuff like that. Good find Stacy.

Stacy, how do you find these amazing images? Nothing like walking in circles all day. Very cool!

I love your post title! The dining room drapes would have to go, when we move in. They are a bit too Ivana Trump for me! The views are magnificent though! Over the top!

Out of my realm too but then again those veiws would almost be worth it. I saw a tapestry on a wall that is killing me being in so much light. One of those things that I can only dream about.

You'd have to invest another 10 million in the renovation! The bathroom? Yuck! The kitchen? Yuck! But...that view!!!!

That is one pretty amazing home. I don't even know how you put a price tag on that baby. I hate that I can't even dream that big. Love to see who lives there. Thanks for sharing those beautiful pictures.

I saw this listing in the newspaper. I agree with you that the views are spectacular!

I laughed out loud at the price, it seems that only in NY are the houses not affected by the economy.

I would say that if her gets his price, this owner is very shrewd.

Have a great week, Elizabeth

Well, the views are worth it-but the decor? So 90s-ish traditional...ugh. Not my taste at all, but I am sure it's all high end.

The layout is awesome. The city more so. Imagine having to update at 100 Mil! LOL
