This is my bathroom right now, about to be demolished. Here is what is coming out: the wallpaper, the green bath tile, the fake wood floor, the shutters, the curtain, the drop in shower and door, the vanity, and the faucets:

Crystal Chandeliers That Make the Room

Sunday, February 26, 2017

We all know what the right chandelier can do for a room, especially when it's a crystal one I think.  This is the photo I took at the restoration Hardware store the other day. I love the way the girls are looking up in wonder at that magnificent light. It's exactly how I feel, too!

Here are some other favorites....

The Most Beautiful Store in Boston

Wednesday, February 22, 2017

Today I took my daughter and her bestie to Boston for an appointment I had, and then we shopped a little bit on one of the best streets in New England, in my opinion - Newbury Street. It always reminds me of what Holly Golightly said in Breakfast at Tiffany's, where nothing can go wrong there because it is such a lovely place. Newbury Street is my Tiffany's (and has a Tiffany's as a matter of fact). My favorite store in Boston is on this street - the Restoration Hardware flagship store. Locals will know it is in the old Louis Boston building and is four floors of design heaven.

This is a really long post because I couldn't bear to cut any of the images. My favorite part is how the girls, age 12 and 13, reverted into little kids.... you'll see....

Rooms with Blooms (Part 2)

I did a post on rooms with florals last week, and wanted to show you part 2 here. These are all from a personal on Pinterest that I follows - here is the board.

50 Favorites for Friday: Think Pink

Thursday, February 16, 2017

I forgot to tell you guys that I dyed my hair pink recently. Seriously. I love pink that much.

It's a temporary dye that washed out eventually, but I've been maintaining the heck out of it because I kind of love it. It's a fun change anyway.

So, in keeping with my being the girliest girl ever, I thought I'd do another all pink 50 Favorites. Here they are.... enjoy!

THIS is How To Do A Black and White Home

The Design Company in Toronto designed this home, to perfection I might add. I think this is the best example of an almost all black and white home I have seen. I hope you enjoy!

25 Favorite One Kings Lane Home Makeovers

Wednesday, February 15, 2017

I think the designers at One Kings Lane are exceptionally talented. I so want to be one of the celebrities whose home they make over from top to bottom. I have no idea whether the recipients pay for the product, but I kind of assume they pay a reduced amount, don't you think? If it's free I don't want to know because I'll be so jealous.

Here are my top 25 favorites:

What I Love Wednesday: Artist Elise Morris

Tuesday, February 14, 2017

Elise Morris is my favorite artist right now, hands down. You can view Morris' website here and her instagram here. I promise it's worth the visit.

Here is a little about her, from her website:

Elise Morris is a working artist exploring nature’s point of view, particularly fleeting moments of growth and change.  Finding beauty in the unexpected, she works from a deep desire to learn her natural surroundings.  Elise begins each piece with a simple line drawing, and adds layers and layers of translucent paint.  The resulting paintings and drawings explore concepts of nature, at the edge of abstraction.
Elise received a B.A. in painting and printmaking at U.C. Santa Cruz in 1997, and is the recipient of the Hyde and Benteen Irwin Scholarship for excellence and promise in the visual arts.  She lived in the Dominican Republic as a Peace Corps Volunteer from1998 until 2000.  In 2005, she received a Master of Fine Arts from the JFK University Arts & Consciousness program in Berkeley, CA.  She has exhibited extensively, and has work in corporate and individual collections throughout the U.S. and internationally. Elise currently lives and works in Northern California.
She uses all colors really but I am drawn to the vibrant pinks and blues. That being said, here are some of my favorites....

I am absolutely dying to visit the boutique hotel in London called The Artist's Residence! It is a different kind of post for me. These rooms are all the work of the designers at Hibou Designs in Montreal. The design work is great, but the photography is maybe the best I've seen for interiors. I hope you enjoy!

Must See Martha O'Hara Dream Transitional Masterpiece

This house is a dream! It is by Martha O'Hara, and is located in Washington State. The designers were Krystal Kellermann, Lead Interior Designer; Christa Gibbs, Interior Designer; and Jayme Meyer; Senior Interior Designer with Martha O’Hara Interiors.

I am so impressed with the use of purple throughout. I love purple when it is done right, but it can be really, really tricky. They paired it with grays and blues throughout, and I'm smitten. What do you think?
