I think I can do this!

I've been pathetic this year.  I've done absolutely NO seasonal decorating - not summer, not 4th of July, not fall, and now not Halloween. And the kids really care about Halloween, so I'm mad at myself for (almost) missing it. But I'm getting inspired by these adorable and easy projects. I love the ghost milk cartons, and they look super easy. I also love the wicked witches' legs in the cauldron, but that looks a little harder, so we'll have to see about that one :)  I hope these ideas inspire you and convince you that there is still time to make a creative, spooky, fun Halloween house!

I'm not a keen follower - it's not an Australian tradition, but it seems to be catching on here. My first Trick or Treat will be on Monday (a friend is taking us in her neighbourhood) with my 9 year old son! (I have daughters 22 & 20 who never even knew they 'missed out') I'm not too sure that 'I get it' still but loved your images.
Any excuse for a chance to play dress-ups both personally & with interiors? LOL!

Wow this is major Halloween inspriation, some I could see maybe taking on..others I will have to admire from afar. I feel like you, have done next to nothing! Glad to hear you have been busy..thats a good thing and I feel like you havent' been around blogland as much, I too have been really lame about holdiays but mostly because I am not "home" and just not feeling inspired. Next year...I will surely get more into the holidays and blogland is like inspiration overload...don't work too hard Stacy:)

Well Stacy I saw some inexpensive but wonderful large ghosts on these wire frames at Walgreens of all places that you could hang from your porch. A couple of these and a jackolantern would set the mood quickly. I don't have little ones at home for this holiday so there is no pressure, but I understand how you feel. It is good to be busy, but things do take a back seat.

Perfect...for next year's ideas! I'm going to be happy with my tiny bit of decor for this year. Amazing inspiration - thanks!

Good morning Stacy, I feel your pain! I have had a hard time getting into seasonal decorating to.I bought some pumpkins and put them on my front porch. Boring! Did not add a thing to them..You do have some great ideas. I do like all the pumpkins in the fireplace. That is right up my alley. Simple, but it looks like it is more than it is!

These are the cutest ideas! I just pinned a bunch (so I can use them next year.) I love decorating for the holidays, but I know what you mean about being too stressed out with other things for it to be fun. For me I'm usually all excited early on to get everything up, then as the holiday is approaching I'm thinking "Thank goodness; pretty soon I can take all this stuff down and get my house back!!"

Stacy I must admit when my boys were young we went all out, But and and I do mean a big BUT I did not work at the time. I was a stay at home Mom so I had more time to do this stuff. I do know that kids appreciate any kind of effort so try to enjoy the process, sweetie. Hot cider on the stove and some styrofoam cups for your close neighbors parents and a few cob webs on your door with a jack o lantern and you will be more than fine. AS long as they get their fav candy they are happy campers. Take a peek at my pinterest boards and make some Boo-spaghetti for dinner, they would love that one!! xo Kathysue

Uhm... hand raised here! I've been out of sync all year, it seems....
I will take Christmas out of the boxes... my Cali kids will be here!

Thanks so much for the inspiration!!! I have to decorate tables for the Harvest Party at church Monday night. Fun/games for the kids and then later a potluck for them and adults.

My pattern is already cut out for the cute paper pumpkins. Coupons for Hobby Lobby are printing as I type... need some scrapbook paper!... and brown craft paper for the stem.

And those mummy cupcakes are easily do-able, as well!!!
Thanks again!!!

...Karen

This is a plethora of halloween ideas. I don't have time this year, but maybe with a little planning next year might happen. Good luck on your halloween decorating!

If it makes you feel any better, as I sit here and write my comment I am sitting next to the box of Halloween decorations that have yet to be put up! (hope that sentence made sense - terrible grammar!). Halloween is just beginning to catch on here so I find without the hype it's hard for me to get motivated, but I don't want my kids to miss out on the experience since we are living here...you have inspired me now though! Great that you are so busy too...not surprised at all. :)

I agree and that is the right attitude. To make interior design work, one must have the will and passion to embark on these house decorations.
