One of the Best Places to Find Design Inspiration

Hotels! Don't you just LOVE them?  I love everything about them, even the gift shops.  I especially enjoy when they are done in a style that I might not do in my own home, like super modern or over-the-top ornate.  Here are some of my favorites that I found this weekend.  I bet some of my well-traveled friends will recognize a few:

Yes. I agree! Hotels can really inspired and they do!

I used to travel so much with my husband before having kids and we've stayed in amazing places. I never took pictures and I regret it now. I think we always should register these places. They can be a wonderful source of design inspiration.

Recently the Ritz Carlton in St. Louis underwent a complete renovation. My daughter and her husband had just moved to a very large old home and needed several bedroom sets and mattresses for guest bedrooms. They hit gold, the mattresses had never been used and the vintage French inspired king size beds, dressers, armoirs, bedside tables etc. were purchased for just pennies on the dollar. they made out like bandits! The furniture is very high quality and gorgeous!

Wow! You found some gorgeous hotels! Unfortunately, I didn't recognize any of them! I like the chair that hangs from the ceiling! With my luck, I'd swing right out the window!

Whoa! Some serious inspriaiton here for sure. I will take the room with the evening view of the Eiffel tower and that ultra luxurious mable bath thank you! TOTALLY agree about finding inspiration in hotels. Last year when we were in Paris I think I took more pictures of the room and hotels every detail from moldings to lighting,etc...than I did of the grand city itself! I love getting inspiration from beautiful places and it can be anything from hotels to public libraries!

Oh my goodness! Could it be any better than seeing the Eiffel tower from your hotel room?? I love all of these. Now, if only we could get away to go on vacation... Thanks for the tip on getting inspiration from hotel rooms.

The last hotel we stayed in, The Four Seasons in Palm Beach (husband was there on business) I got inspired to redo my master bedroom in all beige's and tans and take away the dark blue. It was the best thing I got out of that trip because the room looks really fantastic now. It is so true that you can get really inspired in hotel rooms!

I love hotels, and take many photos of the window treatments for some reason. On a trip to Scotland every photo I took was of the window treatments and the furniture of the places we stayed.

Love the hotel with Eiffel tower vies and the room that looks to be from and English manor house.

I agree! I love to make my home feel like the ultimate boutique hotel/B&B for my family and guests, so these are great for inspiration! Although I don't think I can recreate that view of the Eiffel Tower...:)
