Chairs, Chairs, Chairs....This Time in the Bathroom

Wednesday, August 3, 2011

I've been writing about chairs all week.  In fact, I've been looking at them on-line and in stores all week, too, so I might as well write about them.   Yesterday I wrote about Louis XVI chairs, and the day before that, about burlap, with a lot of photos of chairs.

Today, it's bathroom chairs.  I don't really have a place in my bathroom for a chair, but sometimes I wish I did. Not that I'd ever use it (unless it were at a vanity), but I just love the look:

A little off topic, but whenever I think of chairs, I can't help but remember the first time I saw this, called a "Fainting Chair" from Urban Outfitters.  Of course I know there are a lot an antique fainting chairs and sofas, but really, are we still allowed to get away with this in 2011?!  I don't think so, at least not in my house.  If I were, I'd have one in every room  :)

Thanks for reading!!

I have a big wicker chair in my bathroom, but it is huge and I am giving it away to my brother who will paint it black for his sunroom. I found it is a clothes collector. I did find the sweetest antique oval shaped victorian stool that I brought home and painted and recovered for my vanity. I had been using a dining room chair in the interem. Love a chair in the bathoom, but it is kind of like a chair in the bedroom~it becomes a catchall. I loved what you loved, the big huge ottoman in front of the vanity with the black mirror.

I wish I had room for a chair. I love how they make the bathroom more homey. I do have a bench.

It's been so busy that this is the first I've seen of your blog make-over! And the photos are wonderful. I've always wanted a vanity or dressing table to sit at. Maybe in my next life!

Love a chair in a bathroom and have actually been looking at them lately to find one for my own. Yea like there is nothing more important than looking for a chair for my bathroom! Oh well what can I say I have admired them for so long in so many magazines that now I want the look for myself and now I am REALLY convinced I must have one!!!! Beautiful Stacy...for some reason I don't have your updates on my blog list..strange! Have to go check and see why....don't want to miss a post!

Chairs in a bathroom add an additional soft and textural element, which is welcome in a space primarily composed of porcelain and tile.
I'm currently working on a post about accent chairs. We must be on the same wave length! I think I'll delay posting mine for a while. :)
Great post!

Stacy,

I'm a huge fan of chairs! Anywhere, any time! It's not essential to have it in a bathroom, but gosh, how beautiful it looks when we add one, right? You've chosen amazing examples here. I haven't found the "right" chair for my bathroom yet, but you really inspired me today and reminded me I should keep looking! ;-)

Have a wonderful day!
