Mudrooms, Laundry Rooms, & Wrapping Rooms, Oh My

Tuesday, September 20, 2011

I don't have a laundry room, mudroom, or wrapping room.  Poor me :(

Totally kidding!  I often write about things I don't have, bur I want to make clear that I am not at all feeling sorry for myself!  I am so very grateful for what I do have.  I do enjoy rooms of all sorts, though, and love to look at rooms that I'll probably never have and just imagine what it would be like to decorate them.  Honestly, my laundry set up works just fine, but if I were offered a full laundry room, well, I'd take it, but mostly just to decorate it.  Ditto with a wrapping room (probably the silliest room ever invented, right?)  But I'm going to show you some anyway!

Now a mudroom, that's a different story.  I desperately need and want one, and am pea green with envy at all of you that have 'em.

Hi Stacy, I love a pretty laundry room. I do have one but it is almost too small to do any real decorating. I recently gave it a little makeover. It is as deep as a side by side washer and dry plus one extra foot and it is ony about 6ft wide, but it has a whole wall of storage for my home accessories, etc. I think you would like it since I painted the walls blue. Love all of the images you used!!! xo Kathysue

Wow some beauties here! I think what this also shows is that you don't need to have a mega huge laundry room, that if designed right with proper storage..even smaller spaces can hold a lot and still look very orderly.
I got some great ideas here, love the ones with the baskets!

These are great images. i havnt got a laundry or mud room either although both are very much needed. It stresses me that i have nowhere to hang my laundry it takes host in my dinning room most days & it really irritates me as it looks messy. Hopefully when we find our new house there will be one.

yes I wish we had a mudroom with the dogs and the leashes and the boots and all...it would be sooo nice! So all of my things are right by my front door, so no formal entry for us~just a good old Pottery Barn style hall tree with a bench and two drawers. It has hooks that hold the leashes and sun hats and drawers hold the garden tools and odds and ends, and it all works quite efficiently.

We just moved in to our new home and though there is a 'mudroom', it's tiny and nowhere near these beautiful rooms you posted above. I'm salivating! However, the inspiration is here and thank you so much for sparking my creativity today! DIY Projects...here I come!! :-))

My "mudroom" area is like a hallway that has a closest so I'm turning the closet into a mudroom area. I love all the mudrooms you pinned, I think I have pinned most of those myself. :) I do have a laundry room and really want to decorate it but that's low on the list for now! Thanks for the inspiration!

I love the laundry room images. Mine is a decent size, but I'd love more space for folding. At least it's located on the same level as the bedrooms, so putting away the clean laundry is fast and easy.
Great post, Stacy!

Great ideas. I would take any of these. We don't have mud rooms in southern Calif. Wish we did.
