I do like this look as long as it is done right, when its not it looks like pickeled/bleached wood from the 80's-yuck! (but I will admit I liked it at the time) You have captured this so beautifully Stacy..its very popular in Europe and in Belgium and France, just beautiful!

Stacy these are all such amazing beautiful examples of limed wood done right, just like Tina said, it really has to be done well or it does not have the patina you have shown in your images. I don't have any in my own home and I probably would not invest in a major piece but I can so appreciate it when it is done well as in Tina's amazing home!! Loved the title. :) Yes, this can be a really amazing look and Tina is pulling it off beautifully! To me it is such a nice combination of European style without being totally formal and over the top...just right! Somehow I missed that you have been feeling under the weather - get wel soon!
Limed woods have been very popular here in Spain, but I don´t ever get tired of them! They look very nice with all different styles of decoration and with basically any colour.
I loved the pictures you,ve shown, it shows the limed look perfectly!

Tina's home is beyond gorgeous. I love the finish of all the beautiful woodwork. It has similar qualities to the bleached and pickled finishes of two decades ago, but today's limed oak seems more rich and old-world in appearance. It's a great alternative for those who want to refinish their yellow-toned oak cabinets from the 1980's.
I especially like a slightly grey application with dark brown undertones. It has the likelihood of outliving the current trend.

I don't think I even realized that is what it's called, but I'm totally on board, too! It adds instant character and softer, more feminine quality to the wood...oh so good...it's probably my favorite on those french feeling chairs or chaises...le swoon...(c:
