Design Genius!

Sunday, December 11, 2011

I can't believe I have never written a post on Katie Ridder's work.  I think she is brilliant.  She is fearless, and reminds me of Kelly Wearstler in some ways.  I wouldn't necessarily decorate my home like all of these images, but I admire her nonetheless and think her contribution to the design world is undeniable.   What do you think?

She´s very inspiring. I like the way she uses colours.

I think she is very talented and has perfected a certain look for which she has become famous and approches decor with a lot of guts. I like her style far more than Kelly ( who I personally think is VERY overrrated) lots of beautiful and inspirational rooms here!

I so agree with you - fearless is a good word.
She is unafraid of colour and uses it in wisely.
I love many of the images you posted. Thank you

I'm a neutral girl at heart, but she certainly makes me question that, I could easily live in any of her gorgeous bold rooms!

She's definitely daring with color and pattern. Some of her rooms are stunning, (like the gorgeous headboard in the first image) but, there are a few that are too over the top for me.
I have trouble focusing on the beauty of a well-designed room when bold colors or patterns are screaming at me for attention.
Thanks for sharing, Stacy, and have a lovely Sunday!

She is very mod isn't she? I like some of the rooms, particularly that green wallpapered bathroom.

Glorious colour, shiney things, and plenty of pictures! What's not to love. I've seen a couple of these images before, but didn't realize whose they were. Thanks, Stacy

Love her work! However image# 35 ( twin beds with canopy) is actually a room by Elizabeth Dinkel, another incredibly talented designer whose work I adore!

I found a number of rooms I'd put into my "shopping cart", if I could!

I love that she's daring and mixes colours and bold patterns although some pictures are a bit too much for me. But what's to discuss about taste, right? :-) I've never heard of her before, so I'm glad you shared this post with us! Have a great Monday and hope all is well!

She is not afraid of color! Who else can take a lime green wall and pair it with vintage Audubon prints and make them look good! So fun!
