Christmas Table Setting - Better Late Than never

Saturday, December 24, 2011

I found out yesterday that I won a $500 gift card to Horchow for being one of three winners in their Holiday Room Decorating Contest.  So exciting!!  It was a Facebook thing, and my excitement was just the tiniest bit kind of dampened by people telling me I did the silverware wrong.   Here it is -- kind of funny, and I'm so over it!

Ok, so here's my table this year.  Nothing fancy, but here it is.  I don't even have the bread plates out yet.  And what do you know, I just noticed I have the silverware wrong again -- uh oh!  I had to pull the kitchen table over to the dining room so we could all fit.  I love the way the candles look in the photos:

Whatever holiday you celebrate, I wish you the very, very best!

xo Stacy Thanks for reading!!

Stacy, first off CONGRATS! That is sooo amazing and exciting! Your table is just beautiful, how obnoxious that some would focus on the silverware and the direction of the knives (they were jealous if you ask me) and this year its equally fabulous! So elegant, who wouldn't feel like a king dining in such a beautiful room!! I cannot wait until next year when I can "really do it up" for Christmas dinner, this year we are kind of winging it amongst many boxes, and such but as long as we are togehter, I know thats the most important thing!! MERRY CHRISTMAS, beautiful job!

Gorgeous! Congrats on the win too. Well deserved! Don't let the haters get you down. Saw a great quote on Pinterest - "Haters only hate the thing they can't get and the people they can't be." ;-)

How fun! A Horchow Christmas! Silverware placement is soooo important! I'm surprised Horchow didn't automatically disqualify you for that oversight! Ha! Your table looks beautiful and with that many people over for dinner, you've got a crowd on your hands! Great idea on seating, too! Merry Christmas, sweetness!

And whoever said "pretty but not practical."? What does practicality have to do with a beautiful home?

Congratulations on your win!! What a great honor...what is that saying, "if you cannot say something nice, don't say it at all"?...They need to read Emily Post!!..AND, you are the winner, they are not!!

Your table setting is elegant. I love the hurricanes!!..

Merry Christmas..and to all a good night!

I love it and you can put your silverware anyway you want it honey. It's your house and your table. After all, it was some other person who thought it ought to be the other way originally and no one is the expert on you! Have it your way.

Gorgeous, Stacy! Just catching up on some reading. I'd love to see the tables of the critics! Hmmm. Congratulations on winning. Didn't know Horchow was doing that. Perhaps I'll take you on next year, lol :) !! Hope you have a wonderful new year!
