Mirror, Mirror on the Wall...

Tuesday, July 5, 2011

First, my deepest gratitude goes out to Tina at The Enchanted Home for featuring my blog today on her new "Behind the Blogger" Series.   Tina's is my favorite blog of all time (evidenced in part here, where I can't stop talking about her new home)!  I have never said that about a blog before, because I have a lot of blog friends and don't want to hurt anyone's feelings.  However, Tina's style is beyond fabulous (where I'd like mine to be one day) AND she is building the most spectacular mansion you have ever seen, and you get to watch the progress -- pure design porn!  She also happens to be the nicest, classiest lady around.  I hope I get to met my blog hero in person one day!

For those of you that are here from Tina's blog, welcome, and I hope I can keep your interest as well as Tina does.  For those who have not been to the Enchanted Home, you must go, and you must go RIGHT NOW!!! You'll be addicted.....

Today I also want to show you what's been catching my interest these days.  First, I am about to go paint all of my doors black, so I have my inspiration photos to share.  I think that black doors look best in largely white rooms, so there are some of those, too. And mirrors, you know if you read this blog, are my favorite room additions. Not for the vanity of being able to see oneself, but for the sparkly, reflective, almost magical quality they add to a room. So here is a random, eclectic assortment of these things on my mind:

I love mirrors on old armoires! Pure heaven. I was not surprised to see you featured on Tina's blog this morning, I had noticed both of your posting styles are very similar, and both so enjoyable to read. Congrats on the feature!

Stacy I am still blushing after those extremely kind accolades, wow you are much too kind:) You put a big smile on my face, that will remain there for the day. It was so my pleasure to feature your beautiful blog and saavy style. Everyone has the kindest things to say about you and with good reason!! I hope we get to meet one day soon too!
I love that you are going to paint your doors black, I LOVE black in a home and black doors are super elegant and dramatic and just have that WOW factor! Can't wait to see- thanks again!

Hi Stacy...I can see why you like Tina's blog...you both have a lot in common. Your design aesthetic seems to be parallel judging by some of your pictures. So funny how many lawyers I know who have turned to design...just doesn't make sense to me :)
By the way...mirrors are almost like chairs...can you have too many???

Wow...can't believe my one of my new favorites is guest blogging on My favorite blog of all time! Tina has always kept my attention with her beautiful posts and I have so loved getting to "know" you as well. You both are captivating and always inspire me in one or another to get busy and get creative! It's hard when you've been at a shop all day to go home and really care about your own house but I'm beginning to feel like I can do it again! Loved reading this!

Hi Stacy - so pleased to meet you. I'm with Sherry on both counts - you and Tina have very similar style and there DO seem to be a lot of ex-lawyers in the design blogosphere!! Interesting combination!!

Your doors are going to look fabulous in black. I'm looking forward to seeing them!
As you've read on my blog, I'm obsessed with mirrors, and I love black and white rooms. This latest post was full of beautiful and inspiring images. Thanks for sharing!

I love big bold mirrors in the home these pics get me so excited! I've just hung a mirror in the hallway and can't believe it took me so long to do, all these months not being able to check my lipgloss before I rush out the door .. until now!

In my opinion, the colors of mirror's frame really matters. It should fit the house interior design.
