Best of the Best: Christina Murphy

Wednesday, May 23, 2012

This designer, I must admit, is new to me .... New York based Christina Murphy.  Where have I been?  She is amazingly talented, and I can't believe I haven't seen her work before.  She can do anything -- tons of color, monochromatic, lacquered walls, orange ceilings, modern, traditional.... and pull it all off to perfection.  In my view, that is the mark of a truly great designer.  Here is a portion of her portfolio  -- I hope you enjoy it as much as I did:

She does a lot of black trim, like in these next few... love the way is pops:

I adore how she lacquers so many of the walls she does:

I don't think I've ever seen a purple wall that I like as much as this one, again with the lacquered finish:

LOVE the chandelier!

She's great at mixing different shades of white:

Golf leaf I think?  You can see more on silver leaf here.

Thanks for reading!!

I hope you'll visit my store for Rugs, Lighting, Art, Furniture and more:

Inspiration!! I need wall art inspiration and the one thing I noticed is that what is on the walls matters to the entire look of the room.

I had never heard of this designer before either. Beautiful work and love that orange ceiling she did but a tad to much high gloss for me.

Thank you so much, Stacy - for commenting on my own living room, and also for the continuing education you are giving me. It is so refreshing to see someone looking at other designers and letting us see what is going on in the design world. These are wonderful rooms with wonderful techniques. The problem is - will our houses ever be "done"? I think not!
Hugs, Cluny
