(via The Homemade Home)
I am so lucky! Today I have Wendi from Classic Chic Home guest posting on New Traditional Design.  Like all of her posts, it is full of stunning images, most of which I've never seen before.  She has a real knack for finding images that are not over-used, and dare I say, original.  You'll love her blog, so read on, then go take a look:

The Perfect Imperfection of NEW TRADITIONAL Design

Thank you, Stacy, for inviting me to write a guest post for Conspicuous Style. I consider it a true honor to be featured here today.

Stacy and I both love the look of blending old and new, texture and tone, elegance and edginess.  The following images are all beautiful interpretations of New Traditional Design.

(Jan Showers)
Jan Showers has skillfully combined warm and cool colors to create a chic and sophisticated space that's ideal for day or evening entertaining.

(via The Beclaire House)
The juxtaposition of modern artwork, gilded furniture and an acrylic coffee table creates visual tension and interest in this elegant living room.

(Andrew Raquet)
A clever mix of pattern and color updates the traditional lines of this space, and perfectly reflects the youthful personalities of the homeowners.

(via Decor Pad)
This family room speaks to a love of classic design while still providing a sense of casual comfort with its light and airy decor choices.

(Bellacasa Interiors)
Elaborate architectural mouldings and an exquisite chandelier share space with a simple, asymmetrical mantel display. This unexpected mix tempers the formality of this beautifully appointed music room.

(via House Beautiful)
The rich and lustrous textures of velvet and satin feel chic and glamorous when paired with a bold zebra print and antique folding screen. Subdued grasscloth and sleek, black trays add to the room's eclectic elegance.

(via Better Homes and Gardens)
A simple sisal area rug, crisp white walls and unadorned windows provide the canvas for a clever mix of period furniture pieces. The result is a room that's packed with personality and style.

(via House Beautiful)
New Traditional Design is the epitome of perfect imperfection. While elegance and history still play a significant role, the overall look is light and open with a personalized mix of periods and finishes that speak to a homeowner's unique sense of style.

The beautifully composed look of New Traditional Design is both livable and attainable. I hope you're as inspired as I am by this fresh, new twist on an old and beloved decorating style.

I am also loving the new traditional...its very clean, pleasing and welcoming without being too fussy or formal, maybe just maybe this means people will start using their "entertaining rooms" more often! Love the look, beautiful post Wendi and wishing you both a great day!

The "new" traditional is something I can totally appreciate. I've always been drawn to contemporary but I love the fresh look of these new traditional rooms. Great post Wendi!
