I can’t tell you how long I have wanted to paint my (or someone else’s) kitchen cabinets black! Even better if they are distressed black. None of my clients will let me do it -- too weird, they think. I really don’t see it as weird. To me, it looks like the epitome of elegance and glamor. I’d definitely balance them with tons of shiny stainless and white counters, like the photo above. But anyone who has spent a few seconds on this blog knows that Husband, while the NICEST guy in the world, does not always share my vision. I have to pick my battles (like the zebra rug in the bedroom), so I gave in on this one. I wonder if I’ll ever get to see these oh-so-glamorous cabinets in person? I’m betting that the right client will come along!

I am IN LOVE with this one ... I adore how the glass balances all of the dark wood, and I just love the green and white with it.
This is especially good example for those who are a little leery of all black. Here, you can see that painting even one section of the cabinetry can add a ton of dramatic impact without substantially darkening the space.

Oh you SHOULD do it! I painted mine black and I love them SOOOOO much. Plus I don't have to wipe them down every day for them to look awesome!

We all have our fixation of colors...I too am an admirer of the dark wood with the glass panes and basically love your style of kitchen.

OMG!!! I'm soooooo with you!!! go for it an dont even hesitate to do it! that is all I can say to you. I wish I can do a DIY projecet but i live in a rental apartment which is a bad idea to the land loard. But you are free to do it, so go for it buddy!!
