My Favorite Portfolio Ever: Steven Gambrel's Country Homes

Wednesday, February 22, 2012

First, today I am guest posting at a great blog that I recently found (where have I been??) called Michaela Noelle Designs.  Michaela is a design student and is the cutest, sweetest thing ever. She is also uber-talented...you must go see here if you haven't already!

Second, I wanted to make a note about something I noticed today....I'm at my parents house, and am using my dad's Windows computer, and am shocked to see how different my blog looks on it (I'm an Apple girl all the way). In particular, my profile picture is GINORMOUS!  At home, it looks the appropriate size, so I was shocked to log in here and see my humongous face staring back at me. Nothing else looks disproportionate, though, so I'm kind of stumped. So, to all you windows users, I'm sorry....I really don't mean for my face to be so prominent on your screen. Kind of embarassing. Anyway, moving on....

Steven Gambrel is one of my favorite designers, and his "Country" portfolio blows me away whenever I look at it.  Lots of good designers have the ability to diversify, and they are all creative, but in my opinion, Mr. Gambrel brings these concepts to a whole new level.  Every room, every corner, every vignette, he does boasts something completely unexpected and interesting in it. Here, you'll see:

So I'm really curious about whether you love this portfolio as much as I do?

Thanks for reading!!

Too funny about your blog looking different on a Windows computer! I'm also a Mac user =)

Gorgeous portfolio! I was going to pick my favorite kitchen design to comment on but I love ALL of the kitchens that are pictured! I also love the huge mirror above the fireplace in the living room picture. So stylish and elegant!

Love his work!! Interesting... he's the only designer I've seen to date who doesn't turn on every lamp and light fixture when his interiors are photographed.

So many lovely images...

Hi Stacy! I love Michaela's blog. Been following it for awhile. Can't wait to see what you're guest posting about. Don't worry,, your ginormous face is not offending. :) I'm sure no one perceived it the way you did.
