All of these rooms have some elements that remind me of fall, from velvet to moodier colors to natural elements. I think some of them are really good examples of how rooms can indicate a darker season without being dark themselves. Enjoy!
Weekend in Cancun

I got home last night from a long weekend at a new resort in Cancun called Breathless. About 30 people from my town went because we are all friends with the travel agent (here) who arranged it. It was so incredible, as you'll be able to tell from the photos. The first ones are stock photos, but you'll soon be able to tell which are mine because of the bad quality ;)
Some of you may remember that I started going to all inclusives with my friend a couple of years ago. I have been to one in Jamaica (here) and two in Cancun now (here is the other one). I liked different aspects of all three and could never pick my favorite. I just know that I am a fan and will do them again. These resorts are so different than the old Beaches and Sandals ones (NOT a fan).... just look and you'll see what I mean. I highly recommend if you are looking for a vacation...

I might have a new client (she hasn't hired me yet but I hope she does) that is doing a boho beach house. It's gorgeous and I really hope I get to work on it. This is a home in Chicago that I stumbled across. Isn't it gorgeous? And it is on a pretty modest budget, too. There are a couple of high end pieces, but they are literally mixed in with things from Ikea. That is how I like to do it, too!

I could look at images of velvet furniture all day long. I read an article the other night about how to use velvet in interior design without making it look stuffy. I honestly don't know why I read it, because I don't ever think it look stuffy. The main point was to have more modern lines in the furniture you select so that it doesn't look to old fashioned. Anthropologie has absolutely mastered this. Anyway, this post was soooo easy to pull together because the trend has really taken off. I hope you enjoy! I haven't published an Etsy post in a while, and this has been sitting in my drafts. I feel kind of badly because half of you tell me you love these and the other half, well, not so much (I only know this because I asked - I know my regular readers never complain!)
