I'm so excited to show you a few items from a new vendor that I am carrying (Currey & Co.), and then on to my 50 favorite images of the week...enjoy!

These are really high end - this first one is actually in one of the photos below in a different color.  I wish I could afford the purple one for my house.

And here are some awesome Vintage & Market Finds that my friend and one of the best bloggers around, the awesome Dayka Robinson of Dayka Robinson Design, curated for OKL today -- aren't they amazing?  You can click each to go to the items (there are SO many more on her sale, and they are going FAST -- these are just a few of my favorites!

A Waterfront Home on the Thames? Yes, Please!

Tuesday, July 10, 2012

I was recently browsing the real estate listings of Savills, the well known real estate agency in England.  I found myself dreaming of owning a home right on the Thames. Take a look at my three favorites and tell me what you think!

The first property I want to show you is called Hampton House, in London, available from Savills in Chiswick:

The second property is called Hampton Court East in Molesey, Surrey.  This one reminds me of Mr. Darcy's estate - I would feel just like Elizabeth Bennett living here:

Lastly, I'm drooling over Goring-on-Thames, in  Oxforshire, with its indoor pool and tennis courts:

$19 Table Makeovers with Spray Paint and Rub 'n Buff

Monday, July 9, 2012

I used to have a long console table behind my sofa, but when we put a big tv over the fireplace, we needed to move the sofa back. It worked out well in a lot of ways, including making the room feel larger.  But I needed tables for the existing lamps. So, I went to Home Goods and scored these lovelies for $19 each. Of course I never took a before photo - here is the best I have:

The problem - they were bright red.  Not my thing.

So, I sprayed them black and they lived happily for a while.  But then I remembered what a little tube of Rub 'n Buff can do.

I spent 5 minutes and $3 today, and here are my "new" end tables:

I can see I missed a little at the bottom:

But I love how they go with the table in the background:
