Inside OKL's Superstylish Office Makeover for Le Catch’s Founder

Sunday, November 6, 2016

Shop the look:

Marlien Rentmeester launched her blog, Le Catch, now a white-hot fashion read, after a decade as a Condé Nast editor, and she craved an office that inspired and reflected her style, a masterful mix of edgy and soft, high and low (she can pair Prada with H&M like no other). Living with all boys—Marlien and her husband have two sons—she also needed a space that felt entirely her own. Located in a sunlit room of her family’s home in L.A.’s Pacific Palisades, her office had gotten buried beneath her husband’s file boxes. Just as important, “I was really over the vibe of the space,” Marlien says. “It was too traditional. The lavender walls were bugging me. I wanted to jettison everything and start fresh.”

Ryan Street and Associates Favorites

Tuesday, October 25, 2016

Even if you don't know the name, I'm sure you'll have seen some of the work of Ryan Street & Associates. The room above is from the Houston Oaks Club - one of my favorite features of all time. It couldn't be further from the way I decorated my home, but I love it nonetheless. Here are some of my other favorites from RS and Associates:

Oldies But Goodies

Monday, October 24, 2016

Lately, even more so than usual, my Pinterest feed has been filled with images I remember from at least five years ago. I can't get started again on how much I hate Pinterest lately, so I'll try to look on the positive side. Here goes: "Wow I haven't seen that room in years and it's fun to see it again." So here is a collection of rooms that I'm sure you've all seen, but that I think are interesting to look back on with 2016 eyes. Do you still love them? All of these are ones that I still admire.

DESIGN COMPANY TO KNOW: VIYA HOME

Saturday, October 22, 2016

Have you all heard of Viya Home? If you read shelter magazines as often as I do, I am sure you've seen their ads. They are a very high end maker of tables, sculptures, and lighting. I had never been on their website before, but stumbled to it from Pinterest the other night. I thought I'd show you their magnificent pieces and installations. Like I said, it's super high end. Prices aren't listed, which means I can't afford it for myself, but I'm thinking probably thousands for tables. I think they are fun to look at even though out of the vast majority of people's price range. What do you think of their work?

50 FAVORITES FOR FRIDAY 10.20.16

Thursday, October 20, 2016

I recognize this pink sofa image from years and years ago, but think it is every bit as relevant today given the massive trend toward pink in the home this year. I'm as obsessed as ever with pink. Are you all loving it too? I'd love to know if you are recently loving it, hating it, ready to move on, etc. I know I have a few readers who comment on every post I write about the color of the year. I really enjoy your comments so please keep them coming.
